Healthy Eating!

suprisingly i have stuff to put in this post!
My fall off the wagon really isnt as extreme as i always think it is haha i always manage to eat good!


Family BBQ new year day!
whipped up some of my healthy rissoles! Just a damn shame they dont really stick together that well haha



My obsession.. Frozen yoghurt! Youll all understand when the one at Mac square opens up!
It is to die for! I drive to Bondi to get this one because it is the best!!
This was watermelon and vanilla frozen yoghurt twist with strawberry & lychee balls!



You can get lots of different flavours and topping to add! MmmMMmMmm it may be fat free but dont ask me how much sugar goes into it hehe i dont wanna know!!

  Another unhealthy addiction! Capsicum, fetta and cashew dip!! MmMMm with toasted leb bread!


 These are some new recipes i want to try just from the woolies magazine! MmMMmm

 Terrible!!!! late night maccas dessert!! seriously need to reign in my self control! I should have just had a tea but really wanted to bust out!

When i get some time im going to have a High tea! I LOVE the high tea idea but dont really want to sit around stuffing my face full of cakes and other bad stuff! So... this is the healthy alternative! Ill do an event on Facebook and have to charge people an entry fee! but im really good at organising party/event type things so ill have games and activities too! YUM YUM!!





One of my experiments haha im a little obsessed with couscous and chickpeas! So wanted to attempt a couscous salad! I grilled the lamb and cooked some mixed mung beans and chick peas.. sweet potatoe red onion and balsamic dressing! It was ok.. not as good as i imagined though! BUT always good to try something new!

BFF night out! Fanthai in camden is AMAZING!!! I got prawns and veggies with a curry peanut sauce! The sauce is quite light because it is coconut milk/curry based and its 80% veggies! We also had watermelon paradise drinks which is just watermelon and ice blended! MMmMMM

One of my friends instagram! Shes been really dedicated lately to eating clean and shes been killing her workouts! She recently lost 4% bodyfat in 2 weeks!! thats killer! Also she has got me onto the supplement warehouse for some pre workout and sleep supplements! I also need to get some protein powder!

After all the crap eating of late i was craving veggies! thats all i wanted i didnt want any meat or anything but fish is always very light! So i went to the supermarket piled up some fresh veggies and make a salmon stirfry!
 

















I used garlic ginger soy and chilli! It was soooo damn tasty!! just marinated the salmon while i was chopping and cooking the veggies! I even had enough for lunch the next day and two portions of veggies to freeze so in the future when i want veggies theyre on hand!




 Yummy frozen yoghurt pops! Strawberry and blueberry with cinnamon! Imogen ate all the strawberry ones and toldme to make Mango ones haha



 Ran out of muesli so i made some more! Generally the same stuff but this time i added protein powder! Also left out the apricots! Its great =)



 Getting organised like the professionals!


These are motivational healthy eating photos of some meal preppers that inspired me to get organised with my meals! They have big cook ups on monday and call it #mealprepmondays im not too sure how they make the food last for a week.. they may freeze it but im a bit wary when it comes to keeping food in the fridge! I have a phobia of food going off and eating it blergghh..


 There's so many resources out there and people who are interested in good food its easy to get different ideas! Just try new things! or stick with those things you know you love! Be organised and prepare meals in advance or write down on a meal planner what youre having for what day.. it makes things easier and means you dont have to waste time trying to think of what to have! Also eliminates the excuse for easy take away!

Motivation Monday!

Haven't done one of these in a while and i really need some right now!













 Shes such a goddess and so tiny!! this is how tiny i want to be!



Im struggling with my lazy half.. keep popping into the excuse world.. Im too tired, the girls are too cranky, i have to cook dinner, i have a headache, im a fat blimp so i should stay in bed..but really im putting too much pressure on myself to smash it. Just go for a walk! Just get out and do 10 minutes.. im a very all or nothing person and thats always a good excuse.. oh i cant do pump today because the girls are going feral so i wont go at all. Go later and do something else! Go fro a run after dinner when it cools down.. theres always a way around any non serious excuses!
Its funny how the universe works.. i was feeling really low and lost and i have had two really nice comments from people about my blog/weightloss journey. It really brought me back to my motivated self! Im at the end of the trek ive only got 15kgs to go! i can do it dont give up now!!

Bikram Yoga



So ive been wanting to try this for years! So new year.. good excuse to try something new! My friend Jess had been going so i asked her all the details and set up a time we could go together.
This one is in Petersham but there are others around.. im going to try the Wollongong one next.

The building is beautiful and they really have set it up nicely!
The room is downstairs and they have showers, lockers and a water cooler upstairs.
There are yoga mats and bags to purchase/hire and a fridge full of cold drinks.
They recommend you bring a yoga mat, two big towels and water.
I freeze half a 1.5L bottle and it lasts me the class

Bikram yoga is the practise of 26 set postures and 2 breathing exercises in a 40 degree heated room!
The session goes for 90 minutes and you go through each pose twice.  
Ill tell you it is intense! Im quite a fan of the sauna but doing yoga in a sauna is hard haha
I love yoga, its amazing how much of a workout it is.. people think it cant be hard its just stretching?! uhmm yeah ok clearly you've never practiced before! Now add that into a 40 degree room!
 

I have never sweat so much in my life! it comes from everywhere!!! I came out looking like i had just gotten out of a pool! I had to have a rest the first class i did but managed to try every pose! The instructor lady was really nice and was tellign us to drink water and rest if we needed to. When we were doing the floor poses she was reading out a passage from an affirmations book which was really inspiring. Talking about intensions and how you go about making them and seeing them through. 
The heat is relaxing once you get used to it. Admittedly you have to struggle with your mind not to run out the door (which is forbidden) I get this claustrophobic feeling and start to panic but its all about controlling your mind! Deep breathing and focusing on your pose.

The second class i went by myself on a friday morning and they recommend you drink alot of water throughout the day so i died in this class having drunk barely any water.. i had to lay down for the end half hour of the class! Not to mention i had eaten breakfast too close. I was confused.. am i going to pass out or vomit?? haha
When you leave the room there's a sense of accomplishment and relief.. yes i stayed in for the whole 90 minutes and thank god i can go have a cold shower! Yes! they have showers there and even this really nice smelling body wash!
I definitely recommend it! If youve done yoga before youre more likely to enjoy it and if you can handle a little bit of warmth! The time goes quickly really when youre focusing on the pose and your breathing. 
I purchased a newcomers pass which is $17 for 10 consecutive days of classes! I was going to go tonight but have been throwing up all night and morning so ill go Monday night!
It takes about 40 minutes to get in there and its not a bad drive theres plenty of parking and im always willing to have company =) ill be going monday night wednesday night and hopefully friday night being the last day of my pass! Then i will try wollongong!

Bring On 2013!

Well we are into the new year and so far it has been pretty good!
 

Bootcamp was amazing to bring in the new year! I felt like i did something instead of sat around and ate myself silly all holidays! I miss it! admittedly it was hard getting up at the crack of dawn and all the stuff we had to do.. but i got used to it and now im disappointed its over! I know itll be hard for me to push myself that hard alone. I wish I could do that every second day! I would say everyday but it was so exhausting took me 3 days to recover and get my energy back when we finished hehe
Im happy to say i lost 5cms off my legs! .5cms off my arm and i forget the rest.. my weight and body fat went up but i have been eating too much crap i know that! I feel skinnier! ive noticed the difference in my legs and also my waist/narrow point feels smaller! So im very inspired to kick this year off with a bang!


Ive got some good goals for this year planned out but really need to get stuck into it and do the work! Also its a good idea to write down and plan what youre going to do to achieve these goals.. its all well and good to say yeah im going to lose 10kgs this year!...yup im going to do it!!... err... how?! haha So..

I am going to lose 15kgs this year!

      - 3.75kgs by Immys Birthday in March
      - 7.5kgs by my birthday in June
          
I will do this by:
Serious Clean up of my eating with the elinination of my lazy bad habits!
No more excessive take away! I will stay away from Noodle house at mt annan mmMmm and ice cream!
I will be organised with my meal planning and have the full support of my husband to cook healthy tasty meals!
I will plan my regular exercise routine
I will step up the intesity of my workouts! Bootcamp has really inspired me to push myself beyond what i think i can do!
Above all i need to be in a positive loving mind set.. Help others along as it inspires me and not to compare myself with them! Everyones journey is different and everyones body is different! Im almost there so i need to be nice to myself! =)



NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS:
well im not really a believer in "new years resolutions" as such.. but i do have a few things i wantto change this year!
Obviously lose 10-15kgs get down to 20% bodyfat
I want to make more fun memories with friends and family!
Really dedicate myself to whatever i set my mind to! No more slacking off!
Most importantly i need to ground myself.. i tend to look for what i need in others.. i need to stop that and make myself whole from within before i demand it from others.. its an energy thing, part of my soul healing. I need to meditate more, create my own hobbies and be at peace with myself and who i am.. then others will fall more easily into my life rather than me clawing onto them and demanding too much then being disappointed.


I hope everyone took some time to reflect on last year! and think about whats going to happen for you in this new year! Take the time to plan what you want and how youre going to get it! People often forget the process when focusing on the end result.. Happy New year! All the best wishes!! xoxox
