More to come..

Challenges to come..

DEVIL'S HOLE BUSH WALK- 18th August

This is a one way 7km "Hard grade" trail! The first 4kms is made up of easily marked out trail with steep declines much like we saw at the start of the giant staircase challenge without the metal staircases. It also includes fire trail walking which is just like walking on a road.. flat even surface.

There is a breathtaking lookout over nellies glen.

As we find the bottom of the valley we will find ourselves among an abandoned mining village. This is the point we will stop for lunch and anyone who wants to can turn back.

For those who continue on this is where shit gets real! We start a climb up through rocks and trees where the path is not always so clear.. Youre advised to follow nail markings on trees and such.. However this is only the last 500m or so.

MS 5KM COLOUR RUN - 9th September

Branded the happiest 5k in the world..

Participants start the course in white clothing and every 1km a different colour will be dumped on you.. So when you finish you look like a rainbow!

Im very excited for this one!!

Healthy Eating

Some more photos of food! Everyone laughs at me taking photos of my food all the time but god damn it keeps me in check! If i have to take photos for my blog it has to be healthy and look good =)

Experimenting with minimal ingredients doesnt really help.. a few days before we did the groceries! This is baked eggs! I did one with toast and they both have tomato, ham and basil.

Simple grease the muffin cups with some spray olive oil. Place the ham artound the outside forming an enclosed cup and crack the egg into it. Add any other ingredients you want and bake at 180 for 15 minutes for a runny yolk or 20 for a soft yolk.

The one without the toast tasted better! i would have also loved to put i on a bed of spinach! MmMmMMm
My hubby made yummy enchiladas the other night and i just made a simple salad on my plate to go with it! Next time i want to try the refried beans in the enchiladas!

This is all the food i took on the giant staircase challenge.. yes i get hungry! and if i get too hungry thats when i binge on all the wrong things.. So im always prepared with healthy snacks!
I made blueberry muffins for everyone to snack on!
Speaking of getting too hungry and going ona mad binge.. here a very interesting guide to help you get more intune with your body! They say that by the time you start to feel thirsty your body is already dehydrated.. Drink more water! If you think youre hungry drink more water haha

This is me packing in the protein after a PT session

Need some motivation?

A simple lesson i have learnt tonight.. focusing on the wrongs things can make it harder for the right things to be visible in your periferal vision!

Ive got this nasty habit of feeling im getting nowhere.. some may call it self sabotage? why bother if youre only going to fail right? you wont make it anyway so why struggle through the pain..

Giving up is easy... but easy never made anyone happy!

i will fucking make it! no matter how long it takes me.. i will not give up! i found this old photo and have realised i have lost 27kgs.. Without even noticing..

it may have taken me 3yrs but i have done it while raising a baby and having another baby. I have done it while raising two children under the age of 3! Small changes over time..

Now imagine where you will be in a year.. dont get caught up on the week to week RESULTS.. its all about your week to week EFFORTS!
That meal where you ask for a salad instead of chips.. When you reach for water instead of coke or juice.. That day you really couldnt be fucked waking up at 5am to go for a run with your bestfriend BUT YOU DID IT ANYWAY!! and felt amazing! Parking further away and not being afraid to walk.

SMALL CHANGES PRODUCE THE BIGGEST RESULTS!!
This women had 5 years in between photos..

Everyones bodies are different and everyones lifestyles are different.. Dont ever compare yourself or your results to anyone else! Unless that person is the old you =)

Of course the gorgeous Mila Kunis is my goal.. Shes got a fit body..
Not to boney not too staunch..

Giant Staircase Challenge...

IT WAS AMAZING!!

Suprising how nervous i was about how cold it would be! I knew we would be able to tackle the challenge you can always stop for breaks.

It turned out to be 6 degrees!!!! Brrr but we were all prepared!! We had many layers on! A scalf and a beanie and a hoodie! Once we got moving it was actually quite warm and we had to take our layers off!

I tell you what the rainforest was so beautiful! It was so nice getting back into nature! Its so relaxing!! Every two seconds i was like ooohhhh look at that...tree...rock...fern...view. haha

When we started it was really foggy and we could hardly see any view but during the morning it started to clear and when we were walking back it started to rain! So it was good timing!

There were steep stairs going down as well haha But it was surrounded by lovely rainforest so it was bareable!

My bestfriend and I meditating hehe

Morning tea break before we started the
giant climb up the stiar case of doom!
 The first staircase...

 Smiling.. clearly we hadnt started!!

My Brother & sister inlaw who braved the journey with us!
They really enjoyed it and are actually doing the next challenge with us too =)

Our LAST staircase! We were pretty happy to be finished after 1000 stairs!
HOORAY WE SURVIVED!!!!
Decided not to go back down in the end.. Maybe next time
Stretching as we cool down!

We had a look around kattoomba (and got lost in a candy store) as we walked back..
Mel & I actually ran back as i wanted to get my calories up..

It took us just under 1.5hrs to complete the 5km, 1000+ stair walk! It took us about 20 minutes to walk/run back along the road from katoomba.

Overall an amazing day! It has inspired me to include lots of bushwalking in my challenges! I didnt realise how much i had missed being out in the wilderness after quitting scouts..
Stay tuned for our next challenge =)
